Henry first married, Rosa Boyd, b. 1879-???? on 21 December 1898 and from this union one child was born, Nehemiah Carter, b. 1899-1951. Henry married second, Alice (Coley) Alston, b. 1882-1960 on 30 January 1910 and from this union four children were born, Edna Mitchell(Carter) Harris Givens, b. 1911-1986, Jessie Wilson (Carter) Kimble, b. 1913-1998, Emma Lloyd (Carter) Kimble, b. 1915-2003 & James Henry Carter, b. 1918-1998. Alice was formerly married to Walter Alston, b. ????-???? and from this union two children were born, Nettie Alston, b. 1901-1992 and Clyde Alston, b. 1903-1998. Henry was the grandson of Edy Carter, b. 1768-btn. 1830/40.
